Mr. Jack Larsh passed away on September 25, 2025, after a slow battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. He was surrounded by family singing some of his favorite songs (Give a cheer, give a cheer, for the boys who drink the beer, in the basement of old Leadville High…) to usher him out. He’d had 92 years of fun and love. The light left the room as he passed.

Mr. Jack Larsh started teaching at Fremont Union High School District. He taught driver’s education (in the classroom) and driver’s training (in the car) for many years. Once the district moved away from having employed teachers do this, he taught business and typing for the last 10 or so years of his career at Lynbrook High School. (So, Jack taught arguably the most important classes many students had in high school – driving and typing). In addition to teaching, Jack coached boys football and girls softball. He coached his son and grandson in Little League and in AYSO soccer. He was a skier, a fisherman, a backpacker, a camper, and a joker. It was often a party when he was around.

Mr. Larsh is survived by his wife, Jane; his son, Jim; his daughter, Lona; and three grandchildren, two granddaughters and a grandson.
